چکیده

Hyperspectral images (HSIs) are often corrupted by a mixture of several types of noise during the acquisition process, e.g., Gaussian noise, impulse noise, dead lines, stripes, and many others. Such complex noise could degrade the quality of the acquired HSIs, limiting the precision of the subsequent processing. In this paper, we present a novel tensor-based HSI restoration approach by fully identifying the intrinsic structures of the clean HSI part and the mixed noise part respectively. Specifically, for the clean HSI part, we use tensor Tucker decomposition to describe the global correlation among all bands, and an anisotropic spatial-spectral total variation (SSTV) regularization to characterize the piecewise smooth structure in both spatial and spectral domains. For the mixed noise part, we adopt the `1 norm regularization to detect the sparse noise, including stripes, impulse noise, and dead pixels. Despite that TV regulariztion has the ability of removing Gaussian noise, the Frobenius norm term is further used to model heavy Gaussian noise for some real-world scenarios. Then, we develop an efficient algorithm for solving the resulting optimization problem by using the augmented Lagrange multiplier (ALM) method. Finally, extensive experiments on simulated and real-world noise HSIs are carried out to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method over the existing state-of-the-art ones.

Separation Between Anomalous Targets and Background Based on the Decomposition of Reduced Dimension Hyperspectral Image

The application of anomaly detection has been given a special place among the different   processings of hyperspectral images. Nowadays, many of the methods only use background information to detect between anomaly pixels and background. Due to noise and the presence of anomaly pixels in the background, the assumption of the specific statistical distribution of the background, as well as the co...

Hyperspectral Image Super-Resolution via Nonlocal Low-Rank Tensor Approximation and Total Variation Regularization

Hyperspectral image (HSI) possesses three intrinsic characteristics: the global correlation across spectral domain, the nonlocal self-similarity across spatial domain, and the local smooth structure across both spatial and spectral domains. This paper proposes a novel tensor based approach to handle the problem of HSI spatial super-resolution by modeling such three underlying characteristics. S...

Weighted Low-rank Tensor Recovery for Hyperspectral Image Restoration

Hyperspectral imaging, providing abundant spatial and spectral information simultaneously, has attracted a lot of interest in recent years. Unfortunately, due to the hardware limitations, the hyperspectral image (HSI) is vulnerable to various degradations, such noises (random noise, HSI denoising), blurs (Gaussian and uniform blur, HSI deblurring), and down-sampled (both spectral and spatial do...

Hyperspectral Image Mixed Noise Reduction Based on Improved K-svd Algorithm

We propose an algorithm for mixed noise reduction in Hyperspectral Imagery (HSI). The hyperspectral data cube is considered as a three order tensor. These tensors give a clear view about both spatial and spectral modes. The HSI provides ample spectral information to identify and distinguish spectrally unique materials, thus they are spectrally over determined. Tensor representation is three ord...

Domain decomposition methods with graph cuts algorithms for total variation minimization

Recently, graph cuts algorithms have been used to solve variational image restoration problems, especially for noise removal and segmentation. Compared to time-marching PDE methods, graph cuts based methods are more efficient and able to obtain the global minimizer. However, for high resolution and large-scale images, the cost of both memory and computational time increases dramatically. In thi...
